What is SG Youth?
Our SG Youth ministry exists to help youth know Jesus, have a lasting relationship with Jesus and to help parents encourage their youth to be mature followers of Jesus Christ.
We believe the teen years are the age of opportunity, as youth transition into adulthood and many come to faith in Jesus Christ. We also believe the God has uniquely positioned parents to be the primary influence’s in their teens lives, and so as a ministry, we seek to come alongside both youth and parents alike.
In addition, we want our youth to be increasingly integrated into the life of our church, so that they can see they are loved and valued members of our community. Therefore, as we seek to serve both our parents and youth, here’s what we have going on:
YOUTH NIGHTS – These nights are held every second Friday night during term time. They run like a small group at Brendan & Charlotte Willis’ house in Hornsby - and include board games, table tennis, basketball hoop, outdoor lighting etc. The goal of these nights is to build the youth together as a community, to help them to feel loved by the church and to disciple them to be followers of Jesus.
SOCIALS – Twice a term then, we run socials for the youth, aimed at building the youth together as a community and having fun. These are also nights where youth can bring unbelieving friends along should they wish to.
KYCK – Every year we head off to KYCK together. Absolute gold!! Find out more here.
PARENT NIGHTS – There are presently five of these nights across the year, run by Dave & Emma Taylor, and aimed at both building community among youth parents and offering discipleship and care as parents seek to disciple their teenager for the glory of God.
We’d love you to join us!
